Very Best Oven Baked Chicken Breast



INGREDIENTS

  • 1/4 cup of brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons of smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon of chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon of garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon of powdered onions
  • 1 tablespoon of dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon of Cayenne pepper, optional
  • 1/2 teaspoon of kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground black pepper
  • 4 boneless and skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/4 cup of butter


INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, paprika, chilli powder, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, cayenne pepper, salt and pepper.
  2. Put the chicken breasts in a large zippered bag and pour the dressing on the chicken. Shake the chicken to coat.
  3. Transfer the chicken to the refrigerator (still in the bag) and marinate for 30 minutes or up to 24 hours.
  4. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.
  5. Remove the chicken from the bag and place it on a baking sheet lined with a sheet. Put 1 tablespoon of butter on each chicken breast.
  6. Bake the chicken in the oven for 20-30 minutes (or according to the table above) until an instant reading thermometer shows 165 degrees F.
  7. Remove the chicken from the oven and cover with a sheet. Rest the baked chicken breasts for 10 minutes.
  8. Serve immediately or cool to room temperature, carefully wrap it in a plastic wrap and refrigerate for up to 36 hours.
