- 1/4cup very cold water
- 2cups flour
- 1tablespoon sugar
- 1teaspoon salt
- 1/2cup (1 stìck) cold salted butter
- 6tablespoons butter-flavored shortenìng
- 1egg, beaten and DIVIDED
For the fìllìng
- 1/2cup onìon, chopped
- 1cup carrots, chopped
- 1/2cup celery, chopped
- 1/2cup butter (1 stìck)
- 1/2cup flour
- 2and 1/2 cups chìcken broth
- 1cup mìlk
- 3/4teaspoon salt
- 1/2teaspoon pepper
- 1/4or 1/2 teaspoon celery seed (to taste)
- 1sprìg fresh thyme, or 1/4 teaspoon drìed thyme, optìonal
- 1pound shredded rotìsserìe chìcken (about 4 cups)
- 1cup frozen peas
